Hello, I’m Deborah Brewin

Author, imagination explorer, and creator of the magical worlds of Pocket Wood and Kildarock Forest.

It all began with a single idea: what if fairies and leprechauns had to team up to outwit an invasion? Since then, the stories have grown into a much-loved book series filled with mystery, coded maps, enchanted relics, and unforgettable characters like Otto John, the cobweb time weaver.

Sharing these tales with children, especially during school visits, has been one of the greatest joys of my journey.  Watching their eyes light up as they meet the characters or dream up their own potions and magical places is what makes this all so worthwhile.

The Great Old Oaks of Dark is the third adventure in the series, and I can’t wait for you to discover the secrets hidden within its pages.
